VOLUNTEER INSTRUCTIONS:
Event is Saturday, October 26 from 5-7pm
This event will take place indoors if it is raining (vehicles will become tables in the Colonial Room)
PARKING CREW:
Please arrive at 4:00 for a quick meeting at the garage. Specific details will be given at the meeting.
Wear a volunteer shirt and a yellow parking vest (shirts will be outside the office door and vests are in the garage).
Parking crew needs to put up all signs, cones and barriers (details will be given at meeting) and instruct volunteers where to park.
After the event has ended and visitors have left, please take parking cones, event banner, and entrance and exit signs to the garage. Help take games to the garage and help Mike Schmidt clean up the hayride.
GREETERS:
Please arrive by 4:30 for a quick meeting at the top of the U drive.
Greeters will be at the top of the north sidewalk. You will likely want a chair (take one from room 201 or bring your own). You’ll have a counter to help count the number of guests that attend. Please give a sack to kids that may need one for their candy and hand out church invite cards. Sacks, counters, Invite cards, and table will be by the office door. After the event is over, you may take all your supplies inside the office and leave them in Emily’s office
VEHICLES:
Volunteers may dress up or wear a church volunteer shirt. Shirts will be available by the office door. Please keep your decorations and costumes family friendly.
Vehicles should park in the car stalls in front of the office and preschool classrooms (southwest side of the building) see map below.
Vehicles can arrive and park as early as 4pm and should arrive no later than 4:30pm. Please enter at the north entrance and drive through the top of the U drive to park - do not drive to the back of the building, it will be blocked off.
Plan to park one stall away from the car next to you.
You may bring your own individually wrapped candy/treats and dish or you may use an orange bag provided by the church and donated candy. Pick these items up in the church office after you have parked and decorated your vehicle.
We recommend giving 1 piece of candy out to each child. It may not seem like a lot but we have plenty of cars handing out candy! And you could potentially be handing out candy to more than 500 kids.
If you would like a chair, you may borrow one from room 201 and return it after the event.
Decorate your vehicle as simple or elaborate as you would like. Kids will enjoy it no matter what!
You can close your trunks at 7pm. If you are able to, help Mike Schmidt clean up the Hayride, and help empty water coolers and put cups and table back in the kitchen.
BOUNCE HOUSE:
Please arrive between 4/4:30 - find Emily for instructions
We need a few people to run each Bounce House making sure there are no more than 5 kids in at a time.
You can unplug the Bounce Houses at 7pm to end event.
After event, please find Emily for instructions on tearing down.
