LESSON: PETER WALKS ON WATER

Today we are going to continue learning about Peter, one of Jesus' disciples, who was able to do
something amazing because he trusted Jesus!

FAMILY CONVERSATION: PRE-K

  1. What does it mean to be brave? (face scary things without fear; trust in God instead of being scared)

  2. What did Peter do that was brave? (he walked on water)

  3. What happened when he got out of the boat? (he walked to Jesus and started to fall, but then Jesus helped him back up)

  4. Why wasn’t it scary? (Jesus was helping him)

  5. Why can we be brave? (Jesus helps us too!)

  6. When do you want to be brave this week? (help kids think of things they are afraid of like storms, darkness, spiders, loud noises, scraping your knee, somebody scary on TV, etc.—and practice saying “I can trust God!”)

Pray together and asking God to help us be brave like Peter.

  3. True or False? Jesus said to the disciples, “Take courage. I am here! Hide in the boat until the storm passes!”

  5. What’s your favorite part of today’s story?

  6. True or False? The disciples worshipped Jesus and believed he was the Son of God after seeing him walk on water.

  7. Why did Peter sink in the water?

  8. True or False? Peter was able to walk on water because of his OWN power.
