Today we are going to continue learning about Peter, one of Jesus' disciples, who trusted Jesus and wanted to tell everyone about him. Peter and the other believers wanted to share the Good News of Jesus with others.

FAMILY CONVERSATION: K-6TH
Have you been on a team? What was it like? What’s your favorite part of it?
What’s the church? (you and me; God’s family; not a building, but followers of Jesus)
Who can be a part of the church/God’s family? (Everyone)
What’s the purpose of the church? (it’s a BIG goal: share Jesus with the whole world, have a big impact, help others who need us, etc.)
How did the early church share Jesus? (praying, helping, sharing; asking the Holy Spirit for power to heal, do miracles and teach)
Can we have a bigger impact alone, or as a team? Why?
Pray together and thanking God for loving us. Ask that God would help us be like Peter and the other believers and tell other’s about his love.
FAMILY challenge: how can we be more like peter and the other disciples?
Let’s look at some of the cool things we can do right now that may cause others to want to join us.
○ Helping: We can help people in need! How can we do that? (Let a few kids respond.) One way we can do that at church is by giving to BGMC. BGMC (boys and girls missionary challenge) gives money to missionaries all over the world. Those missionaries are just like Peter and the other disciples, they tell people about Jesus and they also help build churches, orphanages, schools, etc. But we can help anyone, anywhere! Helping doesn’t just mean giving money.
○ Praying: We can pray! That’s when we talk to God, and he listens to us. And you know what’s really cool? We can pray...for other people! We can pray that God helps them, and that they would know Jesus!
○ Sharing: We can share! We can give things away to people who need it, like toys, or food, or money! When we do that, we show people kindness, and they can see what Jesus is like, and how much he loves them!
○ Other: Can you think of some other ways the Church can show Jesus’ love? (Let kids share ideas.)
When we do all these things, it’s kind of like we are the hands and feet of Jesus. We do what he would do, and go where he would go. Acting like Jesus is how we show others who he is.
