VOLUNTEERS SHOULD PARK ON THE SOUTH SIDE OF THE BUILDING (BETWEEN NURSERY AND KITCHEN DOORS)

PARKING & SECURITY Team Overview:

  • Please arrive at 12:30 p.m. for a quick meeting at the garage. Specific details will be given at the meeting.

  • Wear a volunteer shirt and a yellow parking vest (shirts and vests will be available the day of the event).

  • Parking crew needs to put up all signs, cones, and barriers (details will be given before) and instruct volunteers where to park.

  • One or two parking volunteers may stay out there during the event, everyone else will help take egg hunters sacks to the garage after kids hunt. You’ll dump the eggs into the brown boxes and place those back on the shelf designated for Easter supplies.

  • After the event has ended and visitors have left, please take parking cones, event banners, and entrance and exit signs to the garage.

CHECK-IN Team Overview:

  • Please arrive at 12:30 p.m. for a quick meeting in the Sanctuary of the church. Plan to wear a volunteer shirt.

  • You will be checking in our visitors making sure every kid gets the correct color wristband and egg-hunting sack.

  • After check-in closes, as kids are hunting, your tables will be used to collect the hunters' golden eggs. After kids have hunted, they will come back to the check-in tables to give you their golden eggs (1 or 2 per child) in exchange for a “Golden Egg” sticker. They get to use this sticker to collect a prize.

  • After golden egg stickers have been handed out, set up your tables with the golden egg prizes and candy bags.

  • Help hand out these prizes and candy bags to each child at the time of dismissal.

GREETERS & HUNT Team Overview:

  • Please arrive at 12:30 p.m. for a quick meeting in the Sanctuary. Plan to wear a volunteer shirt.

  • You will be greeting visitors after they check-in and will guide them into the Sanctuary. Some of you will be in the Sanctuary and will encourage families to participate in activities until the Hunt starts.

  • You will be assigned to an age/grade color with another person. When your age/grade color is dismissed to line up to go outside to hunt, you will play the line leader, leading them out to their designated hunt area (one of you with the age/grade flag and the other with a clipboard and weighing scale). Hunt will start when Emily blows the whistle. When kids have finished hunting, they should bring their sacks back to you (the same spot you lead them to). You will instruct them to go back to the check-in table to turn in their golden eggs. After sacks are left, you will be weighing their sacks. This step is important as it determines who in what age/grade and gender will win a prize.

  • After the sacks have been weighed, we will need help taking the egg sacks to the garage, hunting age/grade signs to the garage, and setting up golden egg prize tables in the foyer. You’ll help pass out candy bags and golden egg prizes at the time of dismissal.
